Ministry is one of the most meaningful callings, but it can also be one of the most demanding. Faith leaders today are expected to be theologians, counselors, administrators, visionaries, fundraisers, and caregivers, often while neglecting their own well-being. Through ClergyAlive, The Reverend Dr. Daniel Rodriguez Schlorff partners with clergy to cultivate resilience, restore balance, and lead with renewed clarity, confidence, and purpose. Drawing on advanced training in health and wellness coaching, nutrition, fitness, life coaching, and spiritual direction, he offers an integrative approach that nurtures the whole person: body, mind, spirit, and ministry. Whether navigating burnout, transition, leadership challenges, or simply seeking to thrive rather than merely survive, clergy will find a trusted companion committed to helping them flourish in both life and vocation.
If you’re searching for someone who truly understands the unique challenges and joys of life in ministry, consider partnering with the Reverend Dr. Daniel Rodriguez Schlorff. He has dedicated this part of his ministerial years to providing clergy coaching and guiding clergy through personal and professional growth.
Daniel went to seminary at Meadville/Lombard, which was affiliated with the University of Chicago Divinity School. After receiving the MAR, he completed the M.Div. and earned the M.A. in Religious Studies at Hartford Seminary (HIU), where he is now a candidate for the Ph.D. in Interreligious Studies. Additionally, he completed the Doctor of Ministry at Pacific School of Religion and an MBA at the University of the People. Daniel also completed four units of CPE and became certified in Spiritual Direction, taking a holistic approach to providing faith leaders support and helping them achieve fulfillment, balance, and wellness.
When he's not pastoring at Third Congregational Church (Middletown, CT, USA) or coaching, you’ll find him leading a full life by hitting the trails with his dog, reading poetry and nonfiction, trying to count his houseplants and books, or making music.
As a Level 2 Master Certified Health and Wellness Coach, accredited by the National Board for Health and Wellness Coaching (NBHWC), Daniel offers specialized clergy coaching to support faith leaders in their personal and professional growth. He is also a Level 1 Nutrition Coach certified by Precision Nutrition, which complements his role as a Certified Personal Trainer through the International Sports Science Association (ISSA). Additionally, Daniel holds certifications as a Life Coach and Health Coach from the Health Coach Institute, both accredited by the International Coaching Federation (ICF). His training also includes a Spiritual Direction Practicum at Mercy by the Sea, further enhancing his ability to provide holistic support for clergy.
But it’s not all about credentials. Daniel draws upon years of lived experience - as a pastor, church planter, and chaplain - making his insights deeply empathic and practical. Add to that his passion for building community and his belief in the transformative power of storytelling, and you’ve got a coach who knows how to listen, understand, and inspire.
Daniel invites you to take the next step toward a more vibrant, balanced ministry. After all, even shepherds need a little nudge sometimes.
